Description
Orzo (or risoni) is a small, dried pasta in the form of rice, which, according to the Italians, resemble grains of barley. Hence the name orzo: Italian for barley. You see this pasta shape in more countries around the Mediterranean. In Sicily, where the La BIO IDEA Orzo is made in the traditional way, it is traditionally eaten in soups. But Orzo is also delicious as pasta with a good tomato sauce or pesto and as pilav mixed with fried vegetables. Orzo is also a perfect base for a quick risotto variety.
